In Yr5 our students have a year long inquiry into their local waterways. We are part of the River Detectives program and we conduct monthly water testing at Patterson River. We also collect river samples for Pesticide Watch (Deakin University) and conduct quarterly shell audits at Seaford Beach for the Port Phillip Baykeeper. It would be excellent if the Water Ambassador could discuss the importance of Wetlands (geographically and animals that rely on them and why they are being recreated throughout the country) and what solutions are evolving to reduce rubbish in our waterways.
