Schools registered as part of National Water Week have access to leading water professionals to complement their water studies. Your students will learn how we can work together to raise awareness and understanding of water-related issues. Ambassadors will equip students with knowledge about:

Every school is invited to register as part of the National Water Week Ambassador program.

Schools registered as part of the National Water Week Ambassador Program have access to leading water professionals to complement their water studies and curriculum.  

 

Ambassadors help promote a wide range of career opportunities to work with water and share their expertise across projects, research and innovation. National Water Week Ambassadors are proud to engage a new generation in the water cycle, emerging environmental and community issues, and our shared water future.  

National Water Week Ambassadors are Australian Water Association (AWA) members. Each Ambassador has their own story and background.  

National Water Week Ambassadors play an essential role in improving water literacy and raising awareness of careers working with water.  

 

Ambassadors can equip students with knowledge about: 

  • Water and climate change 
  • Water in the world  
  • Careers in water  

During the registration process, for both schools and Ambassadors, there is an opportunity to select from three broad topics.  

  1. Water and climate change 
  2. Water in the world  
  3. Careers in water  

However, we also have an "I don't mind" option. If an Ambassador has selected this option, we encourage you to liaise with the Ambassador to discuss which topic best suits your students. 

No. The Ambassador Listing Page includes Ambassadors' availability (Period available start and Period available end) within their profile. Ambassadors can engage with your school anytime throughout the year as long as it suits both parties. 

The purpose of our National Water Week Ambassadors coming to your school is for them to present to your students in a classroom or school assembly.  

Once you register your school, you'll receive an email from nationalwaterweek@awa.asn.au; the email will include a link to view the list of Ambassadors.

You'll receive an automated email from nationalwaterweek@awa.asn.au with links to access the Ambassador Listing Page and View Your School, plus the next steps.

Yes, AWA can match your school with Ambassadors, however, all facilitation of visits must be negotiated between the Ambassador and the school.

 

When you register, you'll be provided with a link to view all the registered Ambassadors. You'll be able to sort by Topic, Postcode and Availability. Ambassador contact details are on the page, and you are encouraged to contact them to organise.
